Club Deals vs. Solo Rewards

Must-Read

Strategy

Start Here: Before you add a deal, you must know who you are targeting. Read the comparison below first.
Acquisition and Retention in One Dashboard

Club Deals acts as your acquisition engine by selling cash deals to new customers,
while Solo Rewards functions as your retention engine by issuing points to ensure they return.

Club Deals

Goal: New Customer Acquisition

  • For New Customers
  • Customers Pay with Cash
  • You Pay: ~7% Fee

Example: $20 Voucher for $10 (50% Discount)

The Logic: You are buying a customer. You sacrifice margin on this one visit because you hope they come back 10 times. If they don't come back, the 50% discount was the cost of the lead.

Solo Rewards

Goal: Customer Retention

  • For Your Regular Customers
  • Customers Pay with Points
  • You Pay: $0

Example: Free Burger with Purchase of Soda for 1000 points

The Logic: They spent $100 to get these points. You are giving them a $10 burger. That is a 10% effective discount. You profit on every single visit leading up to this reward.

First Principles Thinking

Acquisition is expensive.
You pay a fee on Club Deals because we brought you a customer you didn't have. That is a marketing expense.
Use Club Deals to get bodies through the door for the first time.

Retention should be free.
Club Rewards cost you nothing to issue points because that customer is already yours. We don't charge you to talk to your own people. We call the points and redemption options "Solo Points" & "Solo Deals" because they can only be earned and redeemed with you!
Use Club Rewards to stop them from going to your competition.
